Here, you may raise a doubt that what is Retina Display?

Retina display is a brand name used by Apple for its series of IPS(In-Plane Switching) and OLED(Organic Light Emitting Diode) displays and this displays has high pixel density so that you cannot the pixels on the screen with your naked Eye.

Apple patented this “Retina” Displays On November 27, 2012 from US Patent and Trademark Office, Canadian Intellectual activities and and in Jamaica.

Now, “Retina” is a registered trademark for Computer Equipment. Apple installed this retina displays in almost every latest Apple Watch, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, MacBook, MacBook Pro, and iMac devices.

Thunderbolt 3
Intel in collaboration with Apple developed a hardware interface which lets you connect external peripherals to your computer. They Initially developed and marketed under the name of Light Peak and they sold their first interface on 24 February 2011. In this process they renamed and developed new interface called Thunderbolt. Till now they made it three versions i.e Thunderbolt 1, Thunderbolt 2 and Thunderbolt 3.

Thunderbolt 3 is latest in all. Apple installed this on its new MacBook Air.    All this possible with Thunderbolt 3 video output and native displayPort output over USB - C

Incase of camera, Apple set up a 720p FaceTime HD camera.

Charging | Wireless | Audio

MacBook Air came with two thunderbolt 3 USB-C Ports, if you work on a high power consumption you can use one port for charging permanently and the other for any extra displays or any other peripherals. The bandwidth capacity is about 50Gbps i.e you can run it nearly about 4 to 5 GB’s per second.

The wireless technology used in this is 802.11ac Wi-Fi for wireless networking an IEEE(Institute of Electricals and Electronic Engineers) 802.11a/b/g/n compatible.

MacBook Air Installed with Full bass HD audio output and for input Apple installed three Microphones on it for better audio recording along with a headphone jack.

Keyboard | Trackpad
The keyboard consists of 78 US or 79 ISO LED-backlight keys in addition of 12 function keys and four arrow keys with Ambient Light Sensor

Electricals and Operating Requirements

Apple tested its brand new MacBook Air under various conditions:
  • The line voltage and Frequency you can give up to is 100–240V AC and the Frequency is between 50Hz to 60Hz.
  • The Operating Temperatures are between 10 C to 35 C(50 to 95 F) and storing temperature is between -25 to 45 C (-13 to 113 F).
  • Relative humidity is between 0% to 90%  non condensing.
  • Operating altitude is 3000 metres (10000 metres), Maximum storage altitude is 4500 metres (15000 feets) and Maximum shipping altitude is 10,500 metres(35,000 feets)
